Is it possible to actually earn automated forex income?

I have been trading stocks for a few years as a sideline. Now I’m thinking of going into forex as I’m going to lose my job and I am interested to know if I can earn automated forex income. I am willing to work very hard and learn.

It is always possible to earn money from forex. Many people including myself do that. I have friends who used to work with me in the bank and they are doing pretty well with forex and they have left their banking jobs as banking jobs are no longer lucrative with a lot of salary cuts.

If you are willing to learn and work for it, I don’t see why you can’t live on forex trading. In fact, with the present forex robots, the learning curve is much shorter and you can earn automated forex income if you get a good forex robot software.

For me, I had the first breakthrough in my trading with Forex Killer and since then I have found Forex AutoMoney to be very useful. I have made some money from it. The membership is quite useful as it offers a lot for a newcomer. Don’t trade with your own money first.

However, keep in mind that automated forex systems have risks too. So do paper trade first and after that go on to small trades to get confidence and a feel of the software . Always manage your risk and you’ll be OK.

How many times a day should I make a trade when trading forex?

I am going to turn 18 tomorrow and I’ve had a practice account for several months and have been experimenting with it all that time, trying different strategies and techniques and have found a way to keep on making small consistent profits. What I’d like to know is for when the time comes tomorrow to put in real money, what would be a recommended number of times I place a trade every day I trade forex to make small consistent profits? Good answers would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The amount of trades would depend on the type strategy your applying. Your amount of trades depends on the market itself and how many signals are generated by your strategy. Don’t set a goal of how many trades you have to enter or how much you have to make every day, the market and its movements determine that for you. Setting a goal of how many trades or how much you have to make every day is setting yourself up for failure trying to reach that goal in a $ amount. Its better to focus on trading to be successful and becoming profitable at the end of the day,week,month,year instead of how much you will make. That will take care of itself if your consistently profitable.

Can someone make a decent living by day trading. What is the best way to get started. Software programs?

I will be losing my job in May (plant closure). I have about 15 years experience in investing (stock, mutual funds) mostly long term investments. I would like to retire in about 5-6 years.

The best way to get started: LEARN as much as you can about the market. And then start trading on a paper trading account to gain experience.

What is the most useful tools for making profit from trading stock options?

There are people that do make money trading options, but it is not for the faint hearted. You are paying a premium for the right to buy or sell the stock at a particular price within a certain amount of time.

Luck is your most useful tool. If you get lucky and hit a stock during a major move, you will make a lot of money. If you hit a stock at the end of its move, you will loose the amount paid for the options. The more volatile the stock the higher the premium for the option.

Many professionals use the Black-Scholes Pricing Formula for Call Options. Look it up on Yahoo to determine how it works. It is too complicated to go into here.

Personally I think the best way to make money on options is to write covered calls. That way you get the premium. Of course, if the stock makes a big move on you, some one else gets the benefit of that.

What’s this Automated Trading System?

it is mostly used in many stock exchanges.

You must be more specific, and accurate in naming the System.

Are you talking about the DOT system used by the excanges? Or are you talking about the automated trading systems brokerages offer where you can program your system to automatically execute trades for you without you having to watch the market?

Here are a few basics:
- Concentrate on a few, liquid and volatile stocks only.
- Buy or sell intra day trends with at least 3:1 reward-risk ratios.
- Use mental stops placed under the last minimum (above the last maximum, when shorting) and stick to them.
- Use a decent money management scheme, write down the rules and stick to them.
- Develop a system, trade it on paper only for some time, before risking money.

Here are some more, that I found useful too:
- Don’t trade the first and last half hour.
- Stop trading on a given day when you have reached a set target amount or when you have lost a fixed amount.
- No more than two ongoing trades at one time.
- Take breaks, it’s a stressful activity
