Anyone have advice on how to Trade legally if you work for an investment bank? I'm looking to day-trade.?
Clearly, I want to do this legally and inform my current company of everything I do. I can’t open another account with a different brokerage firm either. I have my trade strategies just need a reputable trading company to execute them. Any suggestions? I’m not high-net client either, which would make this a lot easier since certain companies have a 500,000 min to do this.

I am looking to begin my stocktrading next year with my tax returns, the thing is i am looking for quality training that would suit a short term and then active day trading strategies. If anyone knows or has had online training for a reasonable price and has actually derived value from the training, dont hesitate to answer. BTW this training should be specific to the american Markets
Why is Wall Street not doing well right now?
I’m having a hard time trying to find winners in my day trading strategy.
Regarding Day Trading and Forex?
Background: Fundamentals, with an investing strategy out of the Graham playbook (by distressed, unloved or otherwise underpriced securities). Risk is minimized by having a margin of safety, higher upside than down, and by buying into companies that can be understood and predicted down the line.
However, finding a good opportunity tends to leave at least some cash floating around. Aside from dumping it into a placeholder stock like BRK.B, moneymarket, etc. I am interested in utilizing, to some small degree, daytrading.
Basically:
(1) How is risk managed in security day trading? Forex trading?
(2) Do the few successful traders operate by intuition or determinism?
(3) How wide of a scope to most traders take? Ten stocks? One hundred? All of them? Similarly, how wide of a scope do forex’ers employ?
(4) Is there a way to get a hold of raw market data, outside of the wacky software like eSignal, etc?

How much would someone pay for a subscription to a stock trading website?
I have been developing a trading strategy for the last 6 months. As of today, 11-12-08, the average winning trade percentage is 92% and of those winning trades, the average gain is 5.97% between 1-5 days. If this strategy were used over the course of a year, an individual’s portfolio would more than triple. I am going to start a website in the upcoming few months to have people subscribe to my picks. I do not know what to charge. Ideas?

I have an ICICI direct account. I would like to try in intra-day trading.
I know they have a facility called Margin trading.However, I would like to know more details on this.
A scenario based response from an expereinced trader would be highly appreciated.
It would be helpful if somone can throw some light on the strategies of intra-day trading

Where can I find an advisor for a career in options trading?
I think I would like to have my next career be as a self employed options trader.
After a 14 year career in the Engineering and IT world I moved last year into a career in finance, specifically as a commercial lending officer for a large credit union (.5B.) My education career started in Engineering (including 19 hours of Calculus and linear algebra) but my actual undergrad is a BBA. My IT education includes 4 advanced self taught certifications. I started investing in CD’s, stocks and bonds in 1990, added covered call options in 2000 and long call options in 2005. Even though I had never worked in the finance field, my amateur interest in the financial markets is great enough that senior management asks me my opinion on current issues and trends because of my constant exposure.
As part of my job requirement I will be starting an MBA in September and my course of study is up to me as long as I am working on the graduate degree. Due to my pre-existing interest, heavy coursework in finance, securities and financial math would not be unusual. For political reasons I have to stay in this job for 4 years but I effectively have the opportunity, means and permission to rebuild myself with an eye toward starting on a career in the world of options should I so desire.
I know that during my studies I could ask the professors and advisors about this but I would much rather find someone who is actually doing this to help me structure my courses and studies (formal and self taught) so that while I am being paid to learn I can be learning the things to help me most.
As some here have seen (and answered my questions) I have at least some understanding of options trading. I have found what I think it an effective day trading strategy but it has the significant problems of being unable to scale and requiring constant attention to prevent being on the wrong side of a trend. I need to really learn to do spreads and other long term positions so I can make thousands on a longer term position instead of the 0 per round trip in 15 minutes I target today and not have to watch every minute move from 9:30 to 4:00 all day worrying about missing an instantaneous buying or selling opportunity.
I would very much appreciate it if somebody who has had success in the area of options investing can help me to learn what I need to learn to have the mental tools and experience to be able to seek a career in this arena or barring direct help, help me to find someone who can guide me on this. I don’t think I am asking for a lot of someone’s time but I certainly think it can’t hurt to ask for some help rather than waste money on books or seminars flailing about trying to find that one needle in the haystack of information otherwise uselss to me.

Can Day Trading ever be a science or will it always be more of a gamble?
I like the idea of day trading, but i do not like gambling, would you consider day trading fancy gambling or do you think by using different strategies such as technical analysis or news trading, you have a high chance of profiting…?
does day trading on biggest gainer / loser stock make you money?
If followed with an exit strategy and not looking for huge gains. If its a winner ride the wave and if its a loser buy low and sell if it goes a bit higher?
Day Trading Investing Stocks I Need Two Or Three Proven Strategies?

I have been Daytrading the Nasdaq, Amex, Nyse, BB and PK stocks using Etrades level 2 software. I have had success trading news stories, earnings Good/bad, Share Buybacks, gaps up and down, buyouts and FDA news approvals and non approved.
I have read dozens of books and been on courses regarding day Trading but the best trades I have made I have figured out myself. I Am Looking for more specific Individual ideas that others may have found successful.
For instance I watch the news feeds all day looking for key words in news that will trigger a price move or I’ll spot a loser and follow it for 2-3 days till it’s almost dead and then buy it as it bounces back, another good one is following the top 10 risers of the day till 10.10 am and then buy one that carries on it’s rise. So anybody got any Good Individual ideas I will appreciate it.
