Christians: I want to build a software program or website for the christian community? Any ideas?

By admin · September 8, 2010 · Filed in Day Trading Software

I am a born-again Christian and a programmer by trade. Christians are finding many creative ways to use technology these days. I want to build something that would benefit the Christian community. Any ideas?

If you are a programmer or web designer or graphic artist and would like to partner with me on something, let me know.

If you have a great idea but don’t know how to build software/websites, I can partner with you to make it a reality. Just share your thoughts with me.

Serious answers only please.
I really like the idea of a Christian version of Y!A. I’m wondering if Yahoo will eventually separate out different categories under the R & S Section.

The bible verse look up thing is great, but then I would need to type the entire bible into a database. And I would only be able to use translations that were in the public domain. I think e-sword, biblegateway.com, and biblos.com have cornered this market unfortunately.

All the ideas are great, please keep them coming :)

If you could make a q&a forum similar to Yahoo answers with separate categories for different denominations, theology, history, interpretation, prophecy, Bible, end times, and so on- it would be a hit. You will have to figure out how to police the saboteurs. The atheists/homosexuals really hurt the r&s section of YA. Most of the serious people have left this forum.

Here’s an idea:

brainwashed-idiots.com?

Sounds good to me

Create a software to count how many Christians will end up being screwed when the Rapture occurs.

How about a website that discusses the history behind the religion–how the Bible got assembled, and from what–who wrote the major influential tracts, where the threads of civilization allowed Christianity to take hold and grow. This, far above anything else, is what is lacking in Christian religious education. For some reason, there is an anti-education, anti-knowledge bent to most fundamentalist ideologies.

Call it Chi-Rho or XP for short.

Yes, find a way to make it sarcastic proof. It would be nice to discuss some Christian principals with people who are serious about their faith and who do not feel the need to ridicule someone because they might believe differently.

I wish I knew how to do the computer stuff but I don’t. Best of luck to you. God Bless.

It’s weird to see all the atheists in the Religion&Spirituality section. They must be thirsty.

How generous of you, brother, to offer your skills to help bring about God’s kingdom! If you could program a bible verse lookup site, that would be wonderful.

Have some sort of multiple choice quiz. You can have different categories, like the Bible, Christian history, morality, apologetics, etc.

Here’s a good sample question:
How many stones did David take when he fought Goliath?
1) One
2) Seven
3) Five
4) Three
